Louche Theatre

...why, because performance matters

Tom Jones PosterLOUCHE THEATRE presents……

One of literature’s great comic tales….

TOM JONES

By

Joan Mac Alpine, based on the novel by Henry Fielding.

Production dates are May 6th, 7th and the 8th Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It’s rich, ripe and rowdy…packed with colourful characters and riotous situations, that we discover as we follow the numerous adventures of Tom…..

Adopted as a baby by the kindly Squire Allworthy, he is a young man whose destiny has changed from that of anonymous foundling to one of privileged Gentleman.

His roving eye gets the better of his good nature however, when an amorous indiscretion with a local girl results in exile from his beloved home. In Tom’s absence his true love, Sofia is unwillingly betrothed to the loathsome Blifil and flees to London to escape his clutches…..Tom follows in hot pursuit, embarking  on a series of adventures and misadventures from which he eventually emerges redeemed by love .

Although keeping faithful to the spirit of the classic novel, Louche Theatre’s exciting and fun filled production is imbued with a sparkle that is completely contemporary!

Full of action, fun, song and dance and beautiful 18th Century costumes, we guarantee our audiences, quite simply, a great evening of entertainment !
