Shelley Iles
Whilst studying for a BA in Drama and English at Aberystwyth University, Shelley discovered her passion for the backstage workings of the theatre, and subsequently undertook Stage Management and Marketing roles within the Department of Theatre, Film and Television alongside working with the Arts Centre’s companies ‘Castaway Community Theatre’ and ‘Youth Theatre’. Since graduating in 2005, she has continued to work with Castaway, primarily as a Stage Manager, and in this time has expanded her roles to include lighting technician, costume mistress and more recently, actress.
Her favourite productions include Ubu Enchained and Our Day Out, and also Road which, having encountered first at University, she was able to revisit with Castaway in 2009.
Shelley first worked with Louche Theatre on Blue Remembered Hills (performed in November 2009) where she enjoyed stage managing, the challenge of being sound operator and taking a production on tour for the very first time. She has since worked on Tom Jones (stage managing and sound operation) and most recently, had her first taste of being an Assistant Director whilst working on The Roses of Eyam.
Shelley really enjoys working with such a professional, talented and committed group of people and is looking forward to the next production.
